Carbohydrates provide our body with glucose, which is converted to energy, which helps your body function and fuels your workouts. Carbs are not bad and should never be fully eliminated.

Things to remember about carbs:

  • It’s not HOW MANY carbs you eat, it’s the TYPE of carb you eat.
  • The healthiest sources of carbs include unprocessed whole grains, vegetables, fruits and beans. These are complex carbs – GOOD CARBS!
  • The carbs to avoid are white breads, pastries, sodas, and other highly processed or refined foods. These are simple carbs – BAD CARBS!
